Members can play for established teams or be part of a new team.

The Rose and Crown
The original team came from the old Rose and Crown pub on Halifax Road, more than 30 years ago, and it took them 23 matches before they scored their first win! Persistence pays off. The current team has a strong competitive core, but, with only a small squad, will appreciate enrichment from more new players.

The Hare and Hounds Team
The Roebuck pub in Portsmouth historically sported a huge diversity of teams, with champion bowlers, playing in leagues and competitions most days of the week, until 19 years ago, when it became necessary to move to Todmorden Bowling Greens, where they were generously sponsored by the landlord of the Hare and Hounds pub, giving them their new name.
The competitive spirit lives on through continued participation in the Tod Evening League, with a new name, the Hare and Hounds, on a different home green.
This a small, but expanding squad, but always ready to welcome new members.

The Hollins Team
The old Hollins Pub teams played in lots of leagues; Todmorden Evening League was always one of them. When the Hollins moved to Todmorden Bowling Greens, they maintained club continuity in the league, just based on a different home green. The Hollins has a small but competitive core squad and is always ready to welcome other new members of the Todmorden Bowls Club who can give commitment and willingness to improve.

The Cheeky Blinders Team
The brand-new Cheeky Blinders Women’s team has provided a much-needed expansion of the Tuesday Evening Todmorden League season. Who are the Cheeky Blinders? They are a squad of about a dozen committed, predominantly learner, women bowlers aged between 38 to 75 who assembled following the late 2021 Academy learner sessions. Following a winter of occasional indoor coaching before the April greens allowed outdoor practise, they’ve bought their own bowls, and are now bringing a breath of fresh air to their match opponents’ enjoyment at home and away in the 2022 season.
How many matches will they win? How much progress will they make? Watch this space.
The squad is largely made up of working people, so new members, whether learners or experienced bowlers, are welcomed to join so as to develop additional strength and breadth, and promise for the future.
